Oops! [NOT 29/5/23]

Hi, friends!

I hope lots of you had today off for Memorial Day. I am glad I did because I did not get the chance to do my laundry on Sunday.

I did update my garden journal over the weekend, making notes about my spring veggies that are now gone, and then updating my garden maps for what’s planted for summer. Spoiler alert, it’s a lot of peppers and tomatoes.

Where this gets to an OOPSIE moment is that I didn’t write down all the varieties of tomatoes I planted when I bought/planted them. One variety? Yeah no clue what it was that I bought. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it’s a cherry tomato so I’ll figure it out without having to wait for larger fruit to ripen??

So, internet friends, do you have a fun oops moment happening in your life? Random item in the freezer that you forgot what it was, ordered something online that was so backlogged that you forgot what you ordered?

  1. I did something really dumb today. I put on a pot to heat up some water for noodles and forgot about it.

A while later, I smelt something funny and realized “OH SHIT!”

I didn’t melt the pot, but I ruined the surface of a very good pot.

    I am a fucking idiot.

    • Oh shit that’s so frustrating! I’m glad it didn’t cause any more damage than the pot. I had a college roommate that was making boiled potatoes and left the apartment with the stove still on only to remember about an hour later. It was a singed gross mess layer in the bottom the pot but amazingly no fire. She was all “well you’ll just have to throw this pot away and get a new one” so I threw a fit and was all “my great aunt gave our family that pot and pan set and she’s dead so you will scrub it out until it’s clean!!!” That pot was saved and is still in rotation today.

  2. We are about to go on vacation to Oregon and haven’t packed yet, so odds are sometime over the next week there will be an oh damn moment when something isn’t in the bag.

  3. I was just making my bed again after washing my sheets and pillowcases, but I couldn’t find one of the latter anywhere. Lo and behold, it was still hanging out in the washing machine, almost as damp as when the wash cycle for that load ended a couple of hours ago.
