To distract myself from the world’s ugliness, I have been watching lots of dance videos. I might be a little obsessed with Kamil Kaya, or Mr Blue Suit as he’s known on the internet.

I’m about a 3. Have no easy rhythm or grace, but no thumbs either.
As a salsa, I’d be NYC Salsa non piccante.
No thumbs bumps you up to at least 3.5. A 4 for no finger guns.
What about air guitar?
Uh, asking for a “friend.”
Back down to a 3 😂
I’m at this guy’s level
I think he’s pretty good!
His partner seems to be less sure.
It really depends on my level of intoxication, so I’m between a 3 and maybe a 5.5. I have good rhythm, reasonable coordination and a couple of moves, but I’m rarely engaged enough to really get going. A few drinks help!
Nothing wrong with needing a little social lubricant. As long as you don’t end up being the guy that gets so loose he thinks he can break dance but really just rolls around on the floor! 😂 Which I’m sure you aren’t.
What’s funny is I’ve found that if I’m dancing for an extended period — so mostly weddings at this point in my life — I can’t drink enough to even be concerned about because I’m sweating it all out 🙂
But like dancing, I don’t do a ton of drinking either, so #boringascanbe
Same, but I’m perfectly happy to be boring at this point of my life.
I love to dance. I have rhythm but zero coordination when it comes to learning formally. I purposely stick to the back row of Zumba class to avoid throwing everyone else off.
For fun: 6.
Formally: 1.
Fun is more important than technique. And you’re probably better formally than you think you are.
Groove is in the heart, Hammie:
This is an amazingly fun song to dance to.
Aw this song is bringing up memories of GoGo’s, a Montreal club that I frequented at least once a week. They played mostly Disco and Motown. It was tight like a can of sardines. The bartenders had matching costumes on select days. The place was decorated like an Austin Power fever dream. I’m so glad phone cameras were still shit back then and social media was new.

😆 😂😅 Good times!
“Orgy-chic”! That’s a term I’ve never heard before.
You’re welcome.
I can only skank & Angelo is my dancing roll model (the guy in the brown suit with the sax for you non-fishbone types). 2 with lots of liquid courage from any dancing other than ska, 4 for skanking!
I used to be pretty good at skanking back in the day. But with my bad knee I wouldn’t even try anymore.
I’ll bet you were.
😉
Oh my God. Annette Funicello leading a group of Southern California beach bums in the Jamaican ska dance circa 1965. Where has this been all my life?!?!
Except it was an 80’s spoof of the 60’s beach blanket movies.
Oh. Well it was extremely well done. That wasn’t Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon? I should have known, actually, because now that I think about it I myself never heard of ska until the late 1970s. One step beyond!
It was them but they aged well or had good make up artists. Fun fact, one of my best friend’s wife is step daughter of Tommy Sands, alumni of many of those 60’s movies.
I’m not shocked that there are so few dancers (if any) among us.
Pictured… an artist’s redition of Deadsplinter Dancing.
I’m waiting for @Luigi-Vuoto to weigh in. I suspect he’s the DS hoofer.
I used to be a beautiful dancer. Maybe not a 10, but probably about a 9. It’s why I got invited to so many weddings. At least 100, no exaggeration. I was a convenient “extra man” and at the reception the music would start and I’d grab a grandmother or an aunt and off we’d go.
not much of a dancer tbh…especially not if left to my own devices…but give me a couple minutes to observe and i can usually do a fair decent job of copying the other mediocre dancers around me….
You made me think if this
Hmmmm does dancing around the kitchen scaring the dogs, count? Maybe a five for enthusiasm and a two for actual skill.
Absolutely! I do it too. And Fanny is very perplexed by it.
I’ll go you one better. I’ve told you all before that I’ve taught my dog to dance with me!
I love dancing. Solid 8-9 range for my skills. I can’t do the flashy moves but I’m there for the rest and my rhythm is fucking flawless.
Flashy moves are overrated. And really only good for competitions.
I’d give myself a 2.5.
I grew up around Midwest Polka but could never pull it off.
2.5 ouch 😣 surely not!
