Recommendations! [NOT 26/3/24]

image of thumbs up and thumbs down icons with wording "recommended" and "not recommended"

Hi, friends!

Tonight’s NOT is a recommendations or a do not recommend it post. Feel free to talk about whatever.

For a do not recommend, I submit Cheez-It Snack Mix. It’s too much fucking boring pretzels. Now, the Cheez-It Snack Mix double cheese flavor? Fuck yeah that one is delicious. Just not the basic one.

Unless you love pretzels. But even then, if you loved pretzels that much you’d probably be happier with just a bag of pretzels.

  1. Mixes never work. Ritz crackers + peanut butter work great. But prepackaged ritzpeanutbuttercrackers are just a pale shadow of the DIY version. And how hard is the DIY version?

    • never understood that….works the same with mixed drinks… mix two together…awesome!

      buy premixed….crap!

      is pouring two things together?

how do you fuck this up?

  2. i have no idea what either of those flavours are 🙂

i reccommend adding chilly flakes to cup a soups

    (or canned soups)

    is nice

but beyond that….uhh… dont eat yellow snow?

honestly i dont know why you lot put up with me…..im bad advise manifested

  3. I don’t recommend any sort of liquid cheez except home made cheese sauce.

I avoid stadium or cinema Nachos for that reason (among many others like they’re so fucking expensive, they’re stale, the sauce sucks, it’s messy to eat and they taste terrible.)

      • As far as stadium food, I’m always team hot dog. They’re preloaded with preservatives and they’re boiled. I know there’s still a lot of room for E Coli with hot dogs, but their water baths can’t be as fecund an environment as the cheese nozzles.

On second thought, maybe they can.

  4. I can highly recommend Lupine Vineyards.  I discovered them at a farmers market & was blown away by the quality for price.  I bought a few cases from them & they set me up & even gave me a free bottle.  They let me pick up stuff at their house if they are not going to be at the market for awhile.  I am always wary of serving my neighbor that only drinks expensive wines my stuff but he was blown away by their Cab Franc that 1/4 the cost of anything he drinks.

      • i was almost tempted to get one….you know…just to see what parts they cut out

(and to be fair…the nutso brand of patriotism yous have over there is kind of entertaining to me)

but then the website re assured me absolutely none of the funds would go to trump

and i figured as he endorsed them….thats probably a lie

saves me the effort of digging up a king james bible i guess…..been a minute since i read one…..not sure i’d spot the cuts without some research

    • Yeah that was perfect timing with this post.

Although in all fairness, Cheeto Mussolini drops dumb shit often enough for sale that there was probably 10% odds on any given day of it happening.

  5. One recommendation I have, for anyone who likes Lay’s-style thin & crispy potato chips, but doesn’t like the *price* they’ve gone to, are the Home Style Select chips from Dollar Tree.

The bags are only 5-ish ounces–so they *are* half the size of a regular 10oz bag…

BUT, they’re less than *half* the typical PRICE of Lay’s potato chips, nowadays!

The equivalent of a 10oz. bag is $2.50. *FAR* cheaper than the $4.99 or more, that Lay’s seem to run at non-sale times, now.
