Fun fact: This album was essentially the demo. The label liked it so much they just had John Hammond punch it up a bit with a few overdubs.
Love that they were better than a mere demo. Listening to the album straight through right now. Another one of the “I need that on vinyl” releases on the list.
If you listen closely, it will sound like there are two guitars on certain tracks. That’s not an overdub. He had really big hands so he could play the baseline with his thumb and the lead with his fingers simultaneously.
