Coming Home With Petals
About a week ago, I took a detour walking back from the farmers market to see how things were blooming. There’s a park not too far away that’s known for its tulip beds, but they hadn’t bloomed yet. The cherry trees were in full bloom, though, like this weeping cherry.
For a very brief time, their branches catch your breath.
Different varieties of spring blooming magnolias had bloomed in sync.
Closer to home, a dad and his son walked in front of forsythia, and I could hear kids calling out “flowers for sale.”
As I got closer, I could see it was a bunch of kids who live up the block.
They were also selling “honey water” with mystery green stuff floating in it, whatever that was, but I passed on that. Daffodils were a dollar. That seemed a little pricey, and I had no idea where they had picked them, but whatever.
What prompted this? I have no idea, but I think some of the same kids who made these signs were involved. I bought this daffodil and then finished my walk home.
Wow, you have a lot blooming already. Nice photos as always.
over here the birches are doing their annual favourite pass time of trying to kill me…….
all the pretty flowers do go a ways towards making up for the evil birches tho
Poplars are starting to put out their little pseudo flowers and their pollen can go to hell as far as I’m concerned.
