Coffee Break [13/4/26]

One Thing Leads To Another

Ah yes, Monday. A time for absolutely no creativity. So I’ll just parrot what you are hearing at work: “How was your weekend?”

We had a fair amount of rain. My friend and I tried to go tarp camping after work on Friday and got chased home by wind and wet. Saturday was intermittent rain and sun, and then Sunday was pretty much rain all day. We need it after not getting any snow this winter. But it’s going to tail off like it always does, and then the wildfire season will be upon us.

  1. We had several days of rain last week and now the mosquitoes are upon me. Keeping them out of the house is almost impossible, and I have that body chemistry that causes them to savage me while ignoring anybody else. I’m reduced to setting up electric fans aimed at the doors to try to keep them out when we go in and out. I also am forced to use myself as bait to draw them in so I can kill them. The struggle is real.

    • I feel for you. I’m that person too. We don’t have as many mosquitoes here but they always find me first…and often only me. My husband never believes me when I start complaining that the mosquitoes are out. I’ve developed an allergy to them and the bite sites become four times more swollen than they used to. So I always have proof that those fuckers are in fact out #winning

    • I’ve preemptively decided not to pursue friendships with people who have casually said “oh mosquitoes never bother me.”
I don’t need that kind of frustration in my life as I constantly deal with mosquitoes.

  2. …largely uneventful for the most part I think…rain happened but mostly was good enough to do that while I was indoors…might even have managed one or two arguably constructive efforts…so if things remain more or less on the rails perhaps I’ll finally catch up on some stuff I’ve been meaning to watch sooner than the next one arrives?

  3. After several nice days (most of which I didn’t get to enjoy other than not getting rained on while I saw boards), we are back to rain. With Trump destroying the Forest Service it will be an interesting fire season. If you can’t beat them, let them burn? He is hoping it will just be CA, OR, & WA but forgot about you guys being the reddest of the red states!

  4. easy weekend here…easy weather for the most part too.. not too cold..mostly sunny
    really nothing to complain about

now…. i coulda done without monday tho… had one of them fancy software updates at work… who in their right mind plans one of those for first thing monday morning?
so yeah anyways…that bricked pretty much everything for most of the day..
if they’d warned me in advance…i wouldnt have bothered getting up early..
