Ooop, running a bit late today. Thanks for your patience. Thank dog for Monday staff meetings.
How was your Easter weekend? I ate more ham on Sunday (two different meals at two different family gatherings) than I will eat throughout the rest of the year. I might not be feeling terribly great today. I might’ve had the meat sweats overnight.
Apparently Patton Oswalt was in charge of my self-discipline.

…I forget which episode but I think the point at which the character of ron swanson achieved legendary status for me was the bit after ordering “all your bacon” that begins with “I worry what you just heard was…”
…it…was probably *good* ham…maybe it would still be good when it went cold…but…when in rome?
quiet easter weekend for me..just a dinner at mums yesterday
do love me some long weekends tho.. i took good friday off coz why not…and today is a national holiday
i honestly feel like 4 day weekends should just be an every week thing for me…3 days on 4 days off… sounds like a pretty good work/life balance to me
unfortunately im not quite well paid enough to pull that one off
…ok…but…hear me out…unemployment is bad…but…4:3 weeks seem good…so…everyone gets their own paycheck but the jobs are all shared to some degree
…maybe if you’re the majority vote holder you have to do something “menial”…clean the breakroom…&…some other places if they’re “real ones”?
…some people will have to invoke a demi-weekend if their share means their 4 don’t overlap the traditional 2…but…eh…if people are motivated…could work?
the idea of a 4 day work week to create more jobs has been knocking about over here for a while now… some places do it already
but it meets a lot of resistance from the money…who dont feel people should get to work less and get paid…
honestly similar logic to why working from home is a bad thing to the money…
…see where they went wrong was not asking you…they went 3:4 w/e:week…4:3 & split the work until everyone gets a paycheck…& 4day weekends all round?
…people vote for assholes you wouldn’t buy a used car from…some with SS ink, even…you get paid…you work less than you don’t…figure it’s gotta be good for at least a few votes some places?
the problem lies with getting companies to pay enough for a 3 or 4 day work week to work out…
you know…it doesnt really help if you need to get a second job to get by
Good Friday was not a good Friday but was better than Thursday night! I had a colonoscopy on Friday morning which meant drinking a gallon of Gatorade & 30 days of laxative over a 8 hour period Thursday night. Fun stuff! I’m still trying to recover, my body is saying “yeah, I think we shit enough for a long time soooo, let’s take a break. Yesterday was fine & today back to working on the new floor from the flood damage. The hardest part of doing this floor is the demo, drying shit out, & moving all the accumulated crap out of the way. My daughter’s room is to cluttered to deal with so I have to just move it all to one side of the room until I lay down enough flooring to move it back & do the otherside. It slows the whole process but better than any other option. I hope this is the last time I have to do this shit!
Boy, the colonoscopy prep and the number of times you used the word “shit/crap”, I mean, they’re obviously related, and I hope the scope results were the shit in the best way possible.
Thanks, surprisingly all good with results. I knew going in I had Diverticulitis but so far it is not causing any issues other than when it randomly flares. I have that under pretty good control when I am home and can control my diet. Makes for tough travels sometimes though.
The Meat Sweats is now the name of my punk band.
Oops. I should have checked the internet first. Now I’ll have to rename the band the US Meat Sweats.
Or more appropriately, I should get them to change to the UK Meat Sweats.
There you go. Using the precedent of Charlatans UK or the London Suede…
goddamnit..i was just about to ask you which one you are
I’ve only seen someone truly get meat sweats one in my life.
At an old night job, we’d occasionally step out for our dinner break to this little Italian grocery/deli that had great subs, and they had *enormous* meatball subs. If you got one, it was a two-day meal because half was plenty. But we had a new guy who kept saying he could do it and I want to say that I maturely told him it wasn’t worth it but no, surely I egged him on with everyone else, so he tried it. First half went down easy. Second half started OK but he got about 75% in on the sub and was clearly slowing down. At about 85% he was very clearly sweating in an unhealthy fashion. At about 90%, he looked green, and was still sweating profusely.
Anyway, we all learned a valuable lesson that night.
